Kevin J. Daken

Attorney Kevin J. Daken represents clients in all facets of family law including divorce and legal separation, alimony and child support, property distribution, child custody and access, post-judgment enforcement and modifications, and pre- and post-nuptial agreements. Attorney Daken’s wide-ranging experience includes cases involving disputed business and real estate valuations, complex compensation structures, vocational evaluations, and contentious disputes over custody and access.

Attorney Daken favors a cooperative approach to cases to minimize the financial and emotional toll on his clients. He utilizes mediation and collaborative divorce to achieve those ends, but will not hesitate to go to court when necessary to protect his clients’ interests. Attorney Daken aspires to deliver cost-effective, favorable and fair results for his clients using common sense and attention to detail. He firmly believes that family and matrimonial attorneys are counselors as much as they are advocates, and he always aims to serve his clients with compassion, patience and pragmatic advice.

Attorney Daken has worked exclusively in matrimonial and family law since joining a predecessor firm of Siegel, Colin & Kaufman, P.C. in 2011. He became a partner at the firm in 2020.

Prior to beginning his career as a family law attorney, Attorney Daken served as a clerk for the Superior Court of the Judicial District of New Haven at Meriden, where he gained unique insight into the judicial process and exposure to a wide range of civil and family matters.

While at Quinnipiac School of Law, Attorney Daken worked at the Civil Legal Clinic, providing pro bono legal services in various civil and family matters. For his advocacy on behalf of disabled clients, he received the James R. DeFonce ’80 Memorial Endowed Scholarship and an Award for Excellence in Clinical Work.

In 2022, Attorney Daken was honored as a New Leader in Law by the Connecticut Law Tribune. Additionally, Attorney Daken has a 10.0 rating with AVVO and has been recognized as a New England Super Lawyers® Rising Star in the area of Family Law between 2015 and 2020.

Originally from Illinois, Attorney Daken relocated to Connecticut in 2006 and now resides in Orange with his wife and two daughters.
